A New and Better Way | Matthew 9:14-17

A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 9:14-17

Jesus got a lot of questions thrown His way during His ministry. He was constantly surrounded by people who questioned everything He did. In today’s passage, He is asked another important question concerning the way He and His disciples followed and worshipped God. On the surface, this passage seems to be dealing with fasting, but upon deeper reflection, this passage is all about Jesus and who He claims to be!

Theme: Jesus Christ is not an add-on to an old system but a Bridegroom who established a new covenant with His people.

Three implications from Christ’s encounter with John’s disciples:

1. Rejoice in Christ! He is the Promised Bridegroom (14-15)
2. Believe in Christ! He Established a New Way of Life (16-17)
3. Value Christ! He is the Center of Life
