What is the Gospel and what does it refer to? When Paul explains the gospel of Jesus he exclusively refers to the great works achieved by God! How is it possible for us to be set free, to be liberated from bondage to sin? The answer is given to us in some of the most glorious verses in the Bible, Romans 8:3-4.

Big Idea: God took care of our sin and became our substitute so that we might live for our Savior.

1. The Father Sent His Son to Pay the Penalty for Our Sin (3)
2. The Son Fulfilled the Requirement of the Law as Our Substitute (4a)
3. The Spirit Births and Directs Us to Live for Our Savior (4b)
