Sunday May 02, 2021
Sunday May 02, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 6:19-24
In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus calls His disciples to assess their priorities. What treasures are we focusing on? What will ultimately give us lasting satisfaction - earthly or heavenly treasures? His vivid examples - treasures, body parts, money - illustrate a deeper truth. The point of this passage is not strictly about money or stuff, but about how much stuff gets in the way of us focusing on and valuing that which is more important, the One who is most important!
Theme: Eternal satisfaction does not result from craving earthly stuff but from treasuring Christ and His agenda!
Where is Your Treasure? (19-21)
How is Your Vision? (22-23)
Who is Your Master? (24)

Sunday Apr 18, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 6:5-15
Prayer - a topic that’s often the most guilt-inducing for the believer. Every time prayer is mentioned from the pulpit, we often feel awkward and convicted, quickly realizing that our prayers are so shallow, so infrequent, and so self-centered. But in this passage, Jesus warns us about the misuse of prayer and instructs us about the nature of prayer.
Theme: Prayer is an expression of humble dependence on our Father who sees, knows, gives, and purposes all things.
1. Forsake the Common Pitfalls in Your Prayer (5-8)2. Focus on God’s Priorities in Your Prayer (9-15)

Spotlight Righteousness: When You Give | Matthew 6:1-4
Sunday Apr 11, 2021
Sunday Apr 11, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 6:1-4
Why do you come to worship on Sundays? Why do you sing? Why do you give? Why do you read? Why do you pray? What do you speak? What motivates your living? What motivates your godliness? The “why” of our Christianity is the foundation for the “what”! What you do, so often reveals only a partial picture. Why you do something matters to God just as much as the what.
The passage in front of us, addresses this very issue. No one knows us better than our Savior. He knows not only the what but also the why! And only someone who knows us so intimately and thoroughly would warn us about doing the right thing in the sight of men while harboring wrong motives before God.
Theme: Motivation for godly living is not rooted in our pursuit of recognition but in our pleasure of God!
Beware of Your Heart (1)
Be Charitable in Secrecy (2-3)
Be Aware of God's Presence (4)

The Paradox Of Good Friday | Isaiah 53:7-9
Friday Apr 02, 2021
Friday Apr 02, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Isaiah 53:7-9
The cross of Jesus Christ is the greatest paradox in Scripture. Because it is so difficult to grasp, it is often described as a stumbling block to the faith of some and foolishness to others. Yet, for others, who behold the cross with the eyes of faith, our encounter with the crucified Jesus is the turning point and the foundation of our faith.
Theme: Jesus’ trial, execution, and burial were paradoxical because His mission was paradoxical - to live for and to die in place of wretched sinners, like you and me!
1. The Servant’s Trial - 53:72. The Servant's Execution - 53:83. The Servant's Burial - 53:9

Frankly Speaking, Go the Extra Mile | Matthew 5:33-42
Sunday Mar 21, 2021
Sunday Mar 21, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 5:33-42
In this section, Jesus turns to another very twisted and warped area of scribal interpretation, addressing two laws, of vows and retaliation. Our speech and our actions. And just like the previous two, this one will cut deep to expose our hearts. On the surface, the issues Jesus raises don't seem to address the folks living in 2021. But Jesus' principles are much deeper than they initially seem.
Theme: As kingdom citizens, we make much of Jesus by speaking truthfully and serving sacrificially.
1. As Kingdom Citizens, Speak Truthfully to One Another (33-37)2. As Kingdom Citizens, Serve Sacrificially One Another (38-42)

Radical Purity | Matthew 5:27-32
Sunday Mar 14, 2021
Sunday Mar 14, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 5:27-32
God created us as sexual beings to enjoy intimate relationships in the covenant of marriage for the glory of God. Sin, however, perverted everything. But our sexuality matters a great deal to God! The 10 commandments stress that importance. And Jesus stresses its importance for us today. As we study this text, my prayer is that we listen intently, and as the Spirit exposes our hearts, we do not hide, we do not run, we do not resist the mirror. Instead, in humility, we must look to Jesus for grace and restoration.
When it comes to the 7th commandment (sexual purity),
1. The Crime is More Severe Than You Think (27-28, 31)2. The Cause is Much Deeper Than You Believe (28-30)3. The Consequence is More Damning Than You Anticipate (31-32, 29-30)4. The Call is More Radical Than You Expect (29-30)
