Sunday Mar 07, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 5:21-26
When it comes to the 6th commandment, it's not enough that we have not physically taken the life of another. God's intention is that we do nothing, or say nothing, or think nothing, or even wish nothing, that in any sense defraud another human created in the image of God. In fact, the intent of the 6th commandment is love! To do otherwise is to commit a "heart-murder".

Salt & Light: The Nature and Purpose of Discipleship | Matthew 5:13-16
Sunday Feb 21, 2021
Sunday Feb 21, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 5:13-16
One of the greatest problems that we have in the Christian church is not realizing who we really are. And because of that, we have neglected to take our Christian responsibilities seriously. This, I believe, is the heart of verses 13-16. The crowds were looking at Jesus. Now Jesus was beginning to look at His disciples. Have you ever ever wondered why Jesus allows you to live today? How often do you think about His purposes for you? Because His purposes must shape our purposes. In these verses, Jesus describes the nature and purpose of discipleship.
Theme: Disciples of Christ must display Christ so that a hostile world might glorify the Father!
1. As Salt, Christ’s Disciples Maintain A Distinct Identity (13)2. As Light, Christ’s Disciples Reflect the Light of Christ (14-15)3. Therefore, Christ’s Disciples, Be What Y'all Are (16)

Beatitudes: Whom Does the King Approve? | Matthew 5:1-12
Sunday Feb 14, 2021
Sunday Feb 14, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 5:1-12
The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus’ inaugural address in which He lays out His vision of life in the kingdom of heaven. This sermon is all about Jesus and why we must submit to him! Beginning with the beatitudes, He announces that only the humble and merciful are blessed and approved by God! It is not the courageous, the wise, the temperate, the intelligent, or the attractive that are blessed. According to Jesus, the blessed life in His kingdom is enjoyed by the poor, sad, lowly, hungry, and mistreated!
Theme: The blessed life in Christ’s Kingdom is expressed by humility towards God, mercy towards men, which triggers opposition from the world.
1. Kingdom Citizens Walk Humbly Before God (1-6)2. Kingdom Citizens Act Mercifully Towards Men (7-9)3. Kingdom Citizens Trigger Opposition From the Outsiders (10-12)

Tempted, Yet Without Sin | Matthew 4:1-11
Sunday Jan 24, 2021
Sunday Jan 24, 2021
A sermon by Pastor Tim Vusik from Matthew 4:1-11
Trials and temptations are part of our lives because of the state of our being and the reality of the presence of sin. Because we’re sinful on the inside and we live in a world marred with sin which lies in the power of the evil one, we are constantly being tested or tempted, depending on the outcome. So this episode in the life of Christ, gives us great hope in our predicament, primarily because the Son singlehandedly overcame the devil, but also because we can learn from Jesus how to prevail in our own trials.

What is the most glorious reality of Christ taking on flesh? It is this: God has come to dwell with us (Matt 1:21-23)! Now that the King is born, God sends a man out to preach in the wilderness to prepare his people to welcome the King. Preparation for people meant - repentance!
This morning, we will look at 4 aspects of repentance which John emphasized in preparing the way for Jesus.
